ORGANISATION

The Old Dunstonian Association embraces all OD activities including the various sports clubs based at Park Langley. The Association and its constituent Clubs are run by voluntary, unpaid Boards and Committees. The sports clubs each have their own separate membership and subscription arrangements. Individuals who serve on OD Committees and Boards are elected at Annual General Meetings.

The ODA Committee, whose members are elected each year at the Association AGM, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Association and meets regularly throughout the year.

Clubhouse and Ground
The ownership of the Clubhouse and Ground at Park Langley is vested in a Trust whose members are representatives of the OD Association and St Dunstan’s College. The OD Trustees are elected by the Members each year at the Association AGM and are charged with ensuring that the Clubhouse and Ground are used and managed in accordance with its governing Trust Deed.

The Clubhouse and Ground are run via a formal limited company – The Old Dunstonian Sports Club Limited – which has sole responsibility for the management and maintenance of the Park Langley facilities.

  • The OD House Club looks after the day-to-day management of the Clubhouse, including the Bar and catering arrangements, under the direction of the company Board.
  • The Ground Committee manages the day-to-day business of the upkeep of the Ground, including the supervision of the Sports Club’s contract groundsman and his staff.
The Association itself and all the individual sports clubs each pay a rent to the OD Sports Club company for their use of the Park Langley facilities. These rents and the profits from the House Club operations, together with various fund-raising activities, finance the upkeep of and improvements to the Clubhouse and Ground.

OTHER CLUBS

OUTSIDE LONDON
The Clubhouse is not the only focus for OD social gatherings. With members based all around the world as well as in the UK, the Association has a strong ‘regional’ element. A well-established series of annual Regional Luncheons is held at venues around the UK:

INTERNATIONAL
A growing number of ODs now live and work outside the UK. Many are located in the English-speaking world – USA, Canada, Australia, and South Africa – but others are based in European Union countries and as far afield as Japan, Belize and Tanzania.

Overseas ODs have developed their own networks and some, such as those in Western Australia, New York, and a small group in Andalucia now hold their own annual dinners each year.
